Dubai Time (2024) is a video piece made using appropriated footage from a live webcam perched on the top of Princess Tower in Dubai, UAE. For 24 hours a day this camera follows a pre-programmed loop lasting 11 minutes 26 seconds. In the video, the smooth panning of the camera as it observes the city is punctuated by sudden cuts between times of day, month and year, all while never disturbing the illusion of continuous movement. The montage between footage recorded at different times confronts the illusion of real-time with the cyclical time of the day-night cycle.
